DOMBURG’S JACOBA EXHIBITION IN SCHWAAN

Twenty-six works from the very successful JACOBA VAN HEEMSKERCK MEMORIAL EXHIBITION in our Museum (July 2 – December 10, 2023) travelled to the Kunstmuseum Schwaan in Germany, where they are now on show from January 21 till March 17, 2024.

Among them not only the pastel with watercolour Forest/Tree Vault from 1913 (CFVV, loan to ICEAC Domburg), the oil painting Bild. Landscape with tree from 1915 (MTVP Museum Domburg), and the wood cut Mill from 1915 (CFVV, loan to ICEAC Domburg), but also a magnificent (self-)portrait of Jacoba van Heemskerck, c. 1890-1896/97, which was recently discovered in a private Zeeland collection by our Museum Curator Francisca van Vloten.
