A HEART-WARMING SCHOOL VISIT

The theme of Art was on the agenda for the 48 pupils of group 1-4 of the De Zuidvliet primary school in Kortgene in December 2024. On December 10, they were ready for Piet Mondrian; together with their supervisors, they came to Museum Domburg.

In the depot, they enthusiastically followed Mondrian’s development from figurative to abstract painter using special reproductions of his Zeeland works. During a walk through the village and over the dunes they went in search of his sources of inspiration. In the museum itself, they ‘bought’ their own tickets and talked about the works in the current exhibition The Israëls. Father and Son.

The Waringin painting by the Zeeland painter Willem Imandt attracted a lot of attention. Finally, the pupils browsed through the museum shop. With thanks to De Zuidvliet primary school, which believes that playing, learning and meeting are the conditions for children to be able to develop to their full potential. A vision shared by Museum Domburg and the ICEAC Study Centre.

A heart-warming visit!
